Our services are uncapped as majority of clients rely on continuous use whilst overseas.  You now have the option to opt in to cap your data roaming charges.

By choosing this option, a data block will be placed on your mobile once exceeding a €50.00 monthly roaming limit. You can contact Modern at any time to have the bar lifted.

For instance, if you were to hit your €50.00 limit on the first of the month, you will be blocked for the remaining days of that month.

You will also be notified via text when you reach the 80% and 100% limit of the EU Data Roaming Cap.

If you wish to opt in to have this limit applied, please send an email to service@modcomms.com, specifying the mobile number or group of mobile numbers for which you wish to have this facility enabled.

If you do not opt in, then Modern cannot accept any responsibility for any high roaming charges incurred.

Modern already have in place a number of solutions at network and day to day operational level that are designed to both identify and react to unusual patterns.

The Modern Communication Team

There are however 4 options available:

1. Continue with the 0870 number and accept the charges. The service will continue as normal and routing will not be affected. The charge will be @ 3.5ppm fee.

2. Cease the existing 0870 number. This can be done immediately or when the new regulations come into place (1st August 2009)

3. Migrate the service to another NTS number. Should you require Revenue Sharing, we recommend 084* numbers (if you replace your 0870 number to a 0844 number from Modern, you will receive the ongoing benefit of 1ppm revenue).
a. Numbers can be run in parallel to ensure no loss of business, e.g. continue to run 0870 number with an announcement that the number is changing. This will help your customers get accustomed to the changes. When the changes come into effect, you can then either cease the number or leave it on advising customers of the number they need to dial.
