Adrian Barnard
Founder & Managing Director

With a career background from a junior in a ‘box’ in the old LSE up the broking chain in the mid to late 1980’s and into the nascent cable industry in the mid 90’s, Adrian witnessed firsthand the power and impact of efficient telecommunications on business performance. Armed with this experience, Adrian set out to pursue a vision of the ‘Single Source’ or Converged Solutions business model, long before the concept became popular.
Operating firstly as an independent Telecoms Consultant, Adrian went on join the multinational network carrier Cable and Wireless before founding Modern Communications in 1998 with full trading commencing in 2000.
Under Adrian’s direction, Modern has since grown from a zero capital start-up to full service provider of Telecoms and IT solutions, now turning over more than £4million and maintaining an exceptionally loyal base of hundreds of clients.
Over this period, Adrian has built Modern’s services around a philosophy of total accountability and, to this end, became the UK’s first signatory to the FCC’s Ofcom’s Code of Conduct for Telecoms Service Providers.
